I stayed here for work and was very pleased. Got in after midnight and front desk rep greeted with such warmth (I believe her name was Tammy) and she took time sharing what hotel offered. Woke up went to onsite restaurant named FUEL! And Whoa! I cant speak highly enough about the servers Mr Martel and Ms Jackie. They made me feel so welcome and provided an unforgettable dining experience. Above and beyond service. Attentive and friendly. (Martel should be a trainer or in management if he’s not already). I would come back just bc of them! Way to Go Marriott! Staff is SUPERB!!!

Loved this place! Rooms were nice, good bar area, nice people at reception. I’ve lived in Detroit for years and never knew how beautiful the skyline was, what a treat. This hotel is massive and seems like there is always a lot going on, so that’s cool.

Love this hotel! The views of the skyline and the water was awesome seeing it so high up, keep in mind, the higher you go, the foggier the view is in the morning. The interior was very cool too having the sales side in site and new GMs visible walking through to the elevators.

We stay every year for the Detroit Free Press International Marathon. Each year it looks a little more run down and dirty. Items in the room were covered in dust. The glasses in the room had a bug in one of them. The view was fantastic. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. We travel with many friends running the race and all stay at this hotel. Staff is inconsistent on what they tell guests. Some get a late check out, some do not. Some have to be out by 1130, some by noon. Consistency and cleanliness would make this stay better. I was happy to see Illy Cafe has replaced the Starbucks.

My room…clean, updated,…had to ask for a trash can and a luggage rack. But it can fairly quickly. Lunch was great. Bartender, nice petite lady, fabulous turkey burger.
The gym…better than some. Just average.
Then, I was getting ready to pack it in while waiting for my dinner while sitting at the bar. The freaking music. VERY loud and some “nasty rap with horrible language. I asked the bartender if he could change it. He said that it would change. Then another nastier sound came in. I could jot take it anymore.
I went to the front desk and asked them to change it…they said that the bartender can change it. I was not happy. I was going to get my food when it came and take it to my room. I went and sat back down and he said I turned it down. So he DID have control after all. Saying the N word in music at a public hotel is not cool.
The music did change. Not sure how. But I was very thankful.
