I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Detroit Downtown for work, and it was an excellent experience. The location is perfect — right in the heart of the city, within walking distance to restaurants, entertainment, and local attractions.
The staff was friendly, helpful, and made check-in a breeze. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, with a cozy bed that made it easy to relax after a long day. Despite being downtown, the room was quiet and peaceful.
Breakfast was fresh and tasty, and the on-site amenities were convenient and well-maintained. Overall, it’s a great place to stay whether you’re visiting for business or leisure. I’ll definitely be booking here again.

Location- The location is great. Walking distance from a plethora of food and entertainment options.
Parking- The $55/night parking was a bit excessive. Not everyone is staying for the game. I'd rather feel like a valued Hilton guest than an exploited sports fan. And I'm not even a Detroit sports fan to begin with. So double whammy. I came for the hotel, not the Tigers or Lions. Unfortunately there's no escaping the surcharge.
Rooms were OK. While others in our party complained of no/leaking AC, ours was our coldest ever. With that said, it was tough to get consistency. At times 70⁰ was freezing while at other times it felt more like 78⁰. Bed was comfortable. Didn't feel dated but lacked a lot of "cherry on top" touches.
Staff- absolutely no issue here. Our interaction with them was highly professional and represented the city well.

Great location
Very loud Air conditioner so if u like deep sleep be prepared to be woken every time it kicks on.
Little to no air circulation in the restroom , Steamy mirrors , felt like a suana
Room window had a leak in it, water was dripping on window Pane
Poor quality fridge , did not keep my drinks cool
Poorly lit bathroom and room in general
Poor quality bathtub drain cover , very slow drain causing showering in puddle
Lobby seating area does not look Hilton at all - image provided .

The hotel staff was welcoming and helpful but our room only had one bath towel, I did a online check in but the room I picked was not the room I was given when I got there. I have been coming to this hotel for years and the cost of parking at 50.00 is just ridiculous to me and on top of that the breakfast option cost has also drastically increased. This is no fault of the employees but I dont like feeling like am being forced to pay so much extra money for less service. The location is great and within walking distance to greektown and the sporting events.

No issues at the hotel. Staff was very friendly and even let us keep our luggage and car there after checkout time so we could grab some breakfast downtown. Rooms were clean and everything was as expected. Water pressure in the shower could have been better, but that’s really all I can think of that I wished were different.
