While visiting we came across this gem. Our attire was not up to par but they allowed us to eat at the bar and we were so happy. The restaurant is very nice and the staff were amazing. The food was the best part of our experience. We ordered the 2 orders of oyster Rockefeller, lobster bisque soup, 2 orders of fruits of the sea pasta, swordfish entree, filet/lobster entree, along with several amazing drinks . Perfect experience. The food was so good we asked to see the chef. Chef Mychal a melanin King came out and was humble and made sure to acknowledge his staff during our meeting. That’s a great leader. I’ve been in LE for 27 years and it’s a must we acknowledge our team. Great job on all levels chef. They will be relocating up the street in the near future but make sure y’all check them out. We will every time we are in town.

Joe Muer Seafood in Detroit is an absolute treat for anyone looking for a beautiful and memorable dining experience. From the moment you arrive, the setting stands out, the calming, gorgeous view of the water creates the perfect backdrop for an upscale yet relaxing meal. The restaurant itself is stunning, and the atmosphere strikes a great balance between elegance and comfort. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the staff. They were incredibly attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming, going above and beyond to make the evening special. And then there’s the food, simply spectacular. Every dish reflected exceptional quality, with flavors and presentation that felt truly world-class. It’s clear that great care goes into every detail. Overall, Joe Muer Seafood delivers on every level. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just want an unforgettable night out, this place is absolutely worth it.

It was my first experience here, and I coordinated a trip to Detroit for my anniversary specifically around coming here. Although the service was good, I’m having a hard time justifying the price paid for the experience. Everything ordered is extremely pricey and all a la cart. We were given a menu with the days specials, what we weren’t given were the prices. I get that this is an upscale restaurant and I was expecting a hefty bill. What I didn’t expect was that the kitchen would not know the difference between medium and well done for my $125 rack of lamb. Waiting for an hour for overcooked AND overpriced food was not on my list of expectations. I will admit that EVERYTHING else was wonderful: the bread service, the appetizers, the soup and salad. The drinks were phenomenal and the seafood is top shelf. The issue with the overcooked lamb took a bit of luster out of the occasion considering the reputation of this restaurant.

Celebrating my birthday was the perfect dinner choice. Our ood was delish, with huge portions. The steak was cooked perfectly, and juicy, the rockafeller oysters melted in your mouth. The seafood pasta could've used some more actual seafood, but the lobster mac & chz was amazing. Kyle our server was very attentive and his humor provided excellent customer service gave us great menu selections you can tell he takes great pride in the customer experience 10/10

Do NOT order the chicken... My chicken was cooked to death and cooked again unfortunately. I could not cut it with a butter knife and struggled with the steak knife. The sides were fantastic though. We had the spinach, crab cheese potatoes and truffle Mac all delicious. But my husband's steak was far over done and well the chicken was awful. The view however is beautiful ❤️
