I felt comfortable, relaxed and pampered just from staying at this hotel for a couple of nights for my first time in Detroit. This is the perfect location for visitors as there is plenty of places within walking distance for shopping, food and cocktails. I felt safe and welcome here. The amenities and the rooms were top-notch! I loved the large bathroom/powder room tucked away from the rest of the room. Great views from our room as well. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to enjoy this historic hotel in the heart of downtown Detroit.
First time staying at Shinola and we loved it. Bree and Lucy greeted us at check in and were super friendly and helpful. They gave us great recomendations for things to do during our visit. The location is fantasic and the rooms were spacious and clean. Everyone we passed at the hotel gave us a warm smile and a hello. Would definitely stay here again.
Phenomenal experience. I didn’t have to leave the hotel for anything! I was able to relax, dine, listen to good music and shop all in one place. Everyone was so pleasant from check-in to check-out. A special thank you to Danielle. You made my experience extra memorable. This should definitely be labeled a 5 star hotel.
This is one of the swankiest hotels I've visited in a while. It sort of gave a resort vibe while being located in the heart of downtown. There are definitely places to walk in the area- with surrounding shops and restaurants; although, I didnt walk much because it was freezing and snowing when I was in town. The rooms were beautifully decorated; robes and slippers were provided, which is an added bonus. The gym is nice- bottled water is provided and it has a stairmaster! Check-in was a breeze; they offer you champagne or water. I felt welcomed so I enjoyed the service. Room service was also great. The hotel seems to get extremely busy at times, probably because it is listed as a fine hotel and resort for amex (which is how I booked) and it seems to be part of the chase program as well. I would definitely return when visiting Detroit.
10/10 all the way around! Tanya at the front desk and Samuel who did our watch lending program experience were absolutely amazing. The restaurant was great for dinner, got a nice bag from the brand store, the bed was sooooooo comfy, and the hideout suite was like staying in a luxe downtown apartment. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Detroit!
