We’ve been here many times. Our go to when we have time to go downtown. It’s one of my favorite Thai places to date. The service is quick, the atmosphere is lively and the food is excellent. Good vegan options. The menu is seasonal and changes so you can try something new when you come. However, there are some signature staples like the coconut pancakes that are addictive. Worth the trip Highly recommended.

Takoi is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Detroit. I have come here multiple times and it has never disappointed me. Amazing drinks, service and food for all tastes, they have spicy options but also options for people who don’t like a lot of spice. The food is ment to be shared, so order lots of things to try!!
Takoi also has a rotating menu, they change it often which brings variety to what they serve to their customers.
If you want to dine in the dining room, I highly recommend making a reservation, but if you have a small party (1 or 2 people) they offer walk-ins at the bar area.

Def a hipster joint, but not in a bad way. I liked the atmosphere. The staff were great. Takoi reminds me of Flowers of Vietnam in that I didn't love the food. And I'm a foodie! The menu was odd. Who can choose from this wild stuff? I liked one dish, a cabbage curry dish. The strip steak with fruit was terrible. Whichever chef thought this one up, nah, take it off. Sorry! 😂 They saw we didn't eat it and took it off our bill, which was unexpected, and I am grateful for that. I had a cocktail, too, and it was very good.

Such a clever location. Almost feels like a speakeasy trying to find the entrance. It’s a cozy spot with tasty Thai food. Nothing too fancy with my meal but I enjoyed it and my cocktail.

An absolutely unforgettable tasting menu experience! Every single course was exceptional, though the grilled pork collar was my personal favorite. The dessert, a vanilla meringue, lotus cookie, and grape sorbet was the perfect light finish.
We also had the pla meuk phat Kai kem,a deliciously spicy squid stir-fry. I'm still thinking about it the day after eating. Strongly recommend trying if you like spicy foods!
The beverage pairings were just as thoughtfully curated. Each drink complemented its course wonderfully.
Flawless food, flawless pairings. Will return!
