I stayed here last year and forgot to write a review. First off let me say the staff that I did encounter was fine, but realistically I didn’t need anything other than to check in. This is a review on the hotel and the rooms.
The room was the size of a closet. The floors were cold cement. The bathroom was extremely small with NO COUNTER, just a “cart” to put your toiletries on. The shower itself was old and outdated as was the bathroom in general.
I always go with 3 star hotels because they have restaurants attached so that I am not obligated to always leave to get food. Well, they had a restaurant, but it was closed. Not like business hours closed, but not operational closed.
Location was great though. Kind of on the outskirts of downtown Detroit so that you’re close enough to everything but not right in the middle of downtown if you want to avoid traffic.
Honestly, in my 42 years on earth, this is probably the worst room I’ve ever stayed in.

The staff was amazing and very welcoming! Stellar customer service. The advertisement states the hotel is in walking distance of several restaurants and attractions. This is not true. I do not recommend walking nowhere near there. The area doesn’t look safe. The rooms are very basic and small. The bed is for one person only so do not book these rooms for a party of 4. The price was very high for these conditions. The pictures on the sites are definitely AI.

THINGS WE LIKED:
Staff was very welcoming, pleasant, and informative. This hotel was also verv close in proximity to downtown. Our room was clean and quiet. There were additional services provided including washer/dryer, breakfast restaurant and bar area. Free parking was included in our stay and parking lot was gated for extra securitv. Overall. 8/10
THINGS WE DISLIKED:
As soon as we arrived there was a homeless person sitting on the ground right outside the hotel, which was not a good first impression of the safety around the hotel. That person was eventually told to leave the premises and they complied without causing any issues. The beds were noisv and too soft to the point where the sides were sagging if you sleep close to the edge of the bed. Everytime I readjusted in bed, it made screaky noises. Otherwise, everything else was okay.

Was seeing some low reviews and almost didn’t book. Stayed anyway… so glad I did! Because I almost didn’t, I thought I’d provide my own review to help out the cautious traveler.
Nice hotel, little quirky and artsy but that’s the vibe. Front desk staff were nice (other reviews say otherwise, but maybe the 5 I talked to were having really good days), lounge staff were amazing (lovely local recs and clearly love their city/state). Rooms are minimalistic with some industrial vibes, but clean and comfy (I had recently tweaked my back pretty bad, so comfort was a MUST).
Most of the low reviews I’ve seen I feel like just didn’t book the right hotel for them. Didn’t like the vibes or hadn’t been in a major city before. Travelled by myself. Stayed by myself. Parked my car (in their very reasonably priced gated lot) by myself. Walked around the area (check out the bookstore if you can!) by myself. Did I feel 100% safe? No, duh! What woman walking alone in a major city does?? Did I feel any more unsafe than any other city I’ve been to? No! If you can stay or walk in Seattle, Portland, LA, NY, Miami, Chicago, or anywhere else, you can stay here. Definitely recommend!

I think I understand what they're going for from a design standpoint, but it wasn't for me. The room was very small and the industrial feel was fine, but the overhead bare bulb lights were off-putting. That was kind of the general feel I had of the place. It was fine, but off-putting in some way. I wouldn't call it comfortable or cozy.
The bar was nice and the bartender was friendly and made great drinks.
